The Rio Grande Theatre, originally built in 1926, is a restored  performing arts center in the heart of Downtown Las Cruces. It is the only operating 2-story adobe theater in the country and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Theatre is owned by the City of Las Cruces and operated by the Doña Ana Arts Council.

The El Paso Electric Gallery, located in the south wing of the Rio Grande Theatre lobby, is accepting proposals by artists wishing to exhibit their work. Artists living and working in New Mexico, El Paso, and within a 20-mile radius of El Paso are eligible to submit an application to show in this gallery. Exhibits run approximately four weeks, and work may be offered for sale with a standard commission rate located in the application for gallery.

Each exhibit will have an opening reception hosted by the Arts Council with the artist in attendance in conjunction with the Downtown Ramble on the first Friday evening of each month.
